Prologue
Dramatis Personae:
Kelani, the Kitsune Druid who doesn't understand civilization
Arden, Kelani's velociraptor animal companion
Kibbik, the Kobold Paladin of Apsu who is too trusting
Gabtar, Kibbik's Goblin follower
Ralliakkan, the Drow Rogue who causes more trouble than anyone knows
Maggie, the Gnome Magus who never stops talking

It has been five years since Kelani, Kibbik, Ralliakkan, and Maggie came to the New World. Kelani and Ralliakkan spend most of their time at the Underhearth, Kibbik spends his time running the massive Temple of Apsu, and Maggie runs her peculiar junk shop.
The war at the Red Keep is still going on, as it has been for generations. The goblin hills have been cleaned out completely, only to be replaced by gnolls. The goblins who weren't evil are now living in the Alienage outside Crossroads; as are kobolds that have been attracted by Apsu- Maggie is not allowed anywhere near the Alienage. The Temple of Apsu has grown into one of the biggest churches in the New World now, thanks to Kibbik's efforts.
Our old heroes are mostly retired now, and a new group of Knights will be rising up to take their place, as the realm once again has need for a group of adventurers to take on some of the evil that has risen in the last few years.

Nyneve came to the New World three years ago, and is in Kelani's druid grove, which resides on the island the hags used to live on before the party took them out.
KlikKlik was born in the Underdark in the New World, and about a year ago she emerged from the rift in the Savage Lands, and made her way to Crossroads. She stole a Lyre of Building to help Kibbik build the Alienage. While Kibbik appreciated her help in building, he cut off her pinkie as punishment for the theft; she now wears it around her neck. KlikKlik idolizes Kibbik, and wants to be just like him.
Sonitri came to the New World two years ago to escape the past life that haunts her. She joined the Mage's Guild in Crossroads and lives in River Glenn with a cat.
Taryn arrived in the New World a couple of years ago as well, wanting to become a prominent member of the Assassin's Guild. She met Ralliakkan, who doesn't have a hand in that guild yet, and was hired to become her plant in the Guild. Eventually she will take up the Ralliakkan moniker, but that will not be for a while yet.
These new heroes will become the next generation of the Knights of the Cross(roads).
